Lost in all the suspension drama is the fact that the Jacksonville Jaguars will make the trip to Minnesota Tuesday afternoon after practice for a few days of joint work with the Minnesota Vikings. It will be a nice test of where the Jaguars, offense specifically, is at and a good test for quarterback Blake Bortles.
Bortles has done a good job in training camp and the preseason so far, going against arguably the NFL’s best defense and top cornerback duo. When he sets to take snaps in drills against the Vikings, it will be a little bit more of the same. He’ll be going against another excellent defense with one of the NFL’s top corners with Xavier Rhodes.
As mentioned Bortles has done a good job against the Jaguars defense, it will be a good test going against the Vikings who are equally as good. The big difference will be that Bortles isn’t seeing these defenders every day and doesn’t know little things that can work against them in practices that may not work in games, when it’s actually live.
It’s been so far, so good for Bortles picking up where he was late last season, but a big test will be the next few days against the Vikings defense.
