In a recent interview with Clay Skipper of GQ Magazine, Jalen Ramsey let loose his thoughts about NFL quarterbacks, rookies and veterans alike. He didn’t hold back on players like Buffalo Bills rookie quarterback Josh Allen, who Ramsey thinks is “trash”. Ramsey was also asked about the Jacksonville Jaguars own starting quarterback, Blake Bortles.
“Blake do what he gotta do…. I think in crunch time moments, like last year’s playoff game—not as a team, because we would have trusted him—but I think as an organization, we should have trusted him more to keep throwing it,” Ramsey told GQ. “We kinda got complacent and conservative. And I think that’s why we lost. We started running it on first and second down, throwing it on third down, every single time we were out there. [The Patriots] caught on to that.”
Ramsey isn’t wrong, that the Jaguars seemed to kind of shy away from letting Bortles loose against the Patriots late in the AFC Championship game. Though, I do understand the mentality of you have a lead, you picked Leonard Fournette with the fourth overall pick to do this exact thing, grind out the end of a game.
“We never go against him unless it’s training camp,” Ramsey added when he was asked what kind of trouble he gives Bortles in practice. “We never go against them in practice, during the season.”
“Yeah, scout team. Plus we don’t wanna hurt his confidence. That’ll probably hurt his confidence.”
Even though Ramsey blocked every member of the local media on Twitter for the situation this weekend, it’s still hilarious to see the depths of his trash talk.
Say hello to the bad guy.
