In what was an action-packed Day 7 of Jacksonville Jaguars training camp, here’s what stood out to me.
Leonard Fournette creates a priceless memory with young fans
He has has a vivacious personality — we’ve all seen it on social media. While Leonard Fournette was engaged in pass catching drills, a couple of kids in the stands asked to throw them the ball. Fournette responded by jogging over and playing catch with them, and gifting them the ball afterwards.
With plenty of moments like these, it’s no wonder he’s quickly become a fan favorite down in Duval.

Brandon Smith the next Keelan Cole?
Listed at 6’8” and 327 pounds, it’s hard to miss offensive tackle Brandon Smith’s presence on the field. Despite not getting drafted or signing an immediate contract with a team, Smith has performed very well in training camp.
Like Keelan Cole, who came in undrafted and performed well enough to earn a spot on the 53-man roster, Smith has shown flashes of utter dominance. He still has the occasional lapse in pass protection, but his potential is obvious.

Speaking of Cole, let’s not forget him amidst all the hype surrounding DJ Chark.

Dede Westbrook with the play of the day
Today was perhaps Dede Westbrook’s best day of practice. He created separation with ease and has developed a really good rapport with both Blake Bortles and Cody Kessler.

Here’s a beautiful throw-and-catch from Bortles to Westbrook during team drills. He fit it in nicely between Jalen Ramsey and Barry Church.

An eventful two-minute drill
Below are some highlights during two-minute drills.
Ramsey commits the pass interference and the Jaguars set up shop at the goal line. He atones for the mistake by immediately producing a pass breakup against Niles Paul, ending the drive.

Oh, and Telvin Smith almost intercepts Bortles. Our defense is scary good.
