The Jacksonville Jaguars will not be bringing in an outside replacement for injured wide receiver Marqise Lee, who was lost for the season after leaving the first quarter of a Week 3 preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons.
Doug Marrone was asked if they would bring in Lee’s replacement on the roster and Marrone was very clear: No.
“No, I think we feel comfortable with what we have now. If we feel at any position that we can get ourselves better, we’re always going to look at that. That’s kind of business as usual for us.”
That’s the right strategy. The four left of the top five — Dede Westbrook, Donte Moncrief, DJ Chark, and Keelan Cole — are all young and have tremendous upside. You know what you have in Lee, but with extra reps any one of these receivers could turn into a better option.
