Week 2 NFL odds: Best plays and bet your mortgage on the Saints

NFL: Tampa Bay Buccaneers at New Orleans Saints Chuck Cook-USA TODAY Sports

After one week, we’re in the black! We won three out of four bets last week with the vanuted Bet Your Mortgage the easiest money we made.

How does Week 2 look? Let’s check it out!

Note: I use Bovada’s odds just a few hours before the game for all the spreads.

Baltimore Ravens (-1.5) vs. Cincinnati Bengals

Yes, the Ravens won by a million points last week, but that was the Buffalo Bills — a team that doesn’t know what it’s doing at quarterback and showed as much by benching Nathan Peterman. The Bengals are (obviously) better but I think the Ravens still squeeze this one out tonight in a low-scoring affair.

Bet on the Ravens to win by more than two points.

New Orleans Saints (-7.0) vs. Cleveland Browns

Sorry, Cleveland — you’re on the road and the Saints are going to get up early. It won’t be totally embarrassing but it will be a two-score win by New Orleans.

Bet on the Saints and give up a touchdown to the Browns.

Philadelphia Eagles (-3.5) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Buccaneers put up a 50 burger last week, but don’t expect that to happen against a defense like the Eagles.

Bet on the Eagles and give 3.5 points to the Buccaneers.

Jacksonville Jaguars (+1.0) vs. New England Patriots

The Patriots have Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski, but their run game is suspect as is their run defense — two things the Jaguars will absolutely exploit. I think the Jaguars win outright on Sunday.

Bet on the Jaguars and take a point.
