Week 2 Pro Football Focus insights: Dante Fowler is highest graded edge defender

Pro Football Focus is charting everything when it comes to the 2018 NFL regular season and that includes the Week 2 home opener between the Jacksonville Jaguars and New England Patriots.

So who was the cream of the crop on Sunday? Let’s check it out!

Offense

Blake Bortles led his team to victory with four touchdowns, three of which came from a clean pocket and a 90.4 offensive grade which was the fourth highest by a quarterback this week. His play under pressure was also impressive against the Patriots, he ranked seventh in Week 2 with 111 passing yards under pressure and ranked ninth with a passer rating of 98.7.

Dede Westbrook was productive in the slot against the Patriots. His 78 receiving yards from the slot ranked third among receivers in Week 2.

Defense

Dante Fowler wasted no time in making an impact after missing Week 1. He was the highest graded edge defender in Week 2 with a PFF defense grade of 94.9. He recorded five total pressures on just 14 pass rush snaps, and ranked first with a pass-rush productivity of 21.4

A.J. Bouye only allowed a passer rating of 47.9 when targeted. He only allowed two receptions on five targets for just 12 yards versus the Patriots and his coverage grade of 77.6 ranked 16th among cornerbacks this week
