Pro Football Focus is charting everything when it comes to the NFL in 2018 and that includes the preseason — where backups again excelled against their competition.
So who was the cream of the crop in the preseason finale against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers? Let’s check in with Pro Football Focus:
Offense
Wide receiver Montay Crockett was targeted five times in the win against the Buccaneers. Three of these targets were 20 or more yards downfield, His 70 receiving yards on deep passes ranked third among wide receivers in the fourth week of preseason.
Backup running back Brandon Wilds was elusive when running the ball. His three forced missed tackles while running the ball was tied for the fifth most by a runner this week, his elusive rating of 86.2 also ranked fifth.
Defense
Rookie interior defensive lineman Lyndon Johnson was stout against the run with three stops on just 14 run snaps. His run stop percentage of 21.4 ranked fourth among interior defenders this week.
Cornerback Dee Delaney gave up a passer rating of zero when targeted against the Buccaneers. He was targeted four times and only gave up one reception for eight yards
