Leonard Fournette and the Jacksonville Jaguars front office have cleared the air and are reportedly ready to “move forward together for 2019” according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Sources: #Jaguars star RB Leonard Fournette met executive VP Tom Coughlin and the rest of the team’s brass to clear the air and move forward together for 2019, sources say. Sounds like it went well for both sides and things are headed in the right direction.— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) January 10, 2019
Whether or not this takes him off the trade block is unknown. For all we know, the team could have shopped him around and seen zero takers or been on board with seeing him stay in Jacksonville all along.
What we do know, however, is that the last public word from the Jaguars concerning voiding his guarantees is that they’re still planning on doing that. Doug Marrone said that was what the team was going to do and they haven’t said anything to the contrary yet. Fournette and the NFLPA will undoubtedly file a grievance if that happens.
