The Jacksonville Jaguars (2-3) are hosting the New Orleans Saints (4-1), a bigger game most likely for Jacksonville than New Orleans — a win keeps the Jaguars in the AFC South division hunt while a loss likely still keeps the Saints in the driver’s seat of their own division battle.

Backup quarterbacks will (again) be on display as rookie sensation Gardner Minshew takes on Teddy Bridgewater.

Stay with us all through the day as we live blog the game as it happens, and feel free to join the conversation in the comments as the game progresses. We’ll have post-game coverage as well following the conclusion of the game.

How to watch

Need to find out how to watch, stream, or listen to today’s game? We got you covered here.

Live blog

3:52 PM: The Jaguars simply did nothing on offense, and left the defense to melt on the field until they finally broke. Saints will run it out and get the win, Jags will drop to 2-4. Minshew was simply miserable today.

3:22 PM: Touchown Saints. Bridgewater drives New Orleans down the field thanks in large part to a couple of blown assignments in the secondary, leading to a 3rd & goal score from Teddy to Cook, the Saints take a 13-6 lead with 11 minutes left in the game.

3:06 PM: Minshew and the Jags orchestrate their second positive drive of the day, and is helped along by a few strong runs from Leonard Fournette, including a 16 yarder on a 3rd & 1. Cam Jordan registers the sack on third and 5 inside Saints territory, however, to force another Lambo field goal. We are tied at 6. 3 minutes left in the third.

2:52 PM: New Orleans is able to make it to the Jags 3 yard line, but Bridgewater overthrows Thomas badly on 3rd & goal, and the Jags escape down only 3 points, following another Will Lutz field goal. 6-3, Saints, halfway through the 3rd quarter. A holding call on Thomas bailed the Jags out of a larger deficit on the drive, as it negated a 30 yard Latavius Murray touchdown run.

2:40 PM: Jags opening drive of the second half is stopped on a 3rd & 11, as Minshew throws wide of an open Chark and right into the chest of Lattimore for a Saints interception. That’s the first pick thrown as a starter by Gardner. Saints ball at their own 40 yard line.

2:24 PM: We’ve reached half time ties at 3. All in all a great half for both defenses, and probably the worst Minshew has looked thus far. Depsite all that, the Jags are tied up and set get the ball to start the second half. Minshew needs to have another second half surge though to get this win.

2:18 PM: Sacks on 1st and 2nd down by Josh Allen and Dwuane Smoot, result in 3rd & 22 and the Saints having to concede a dump off to Kamara to get the Saints out of a bad spot. Jags take over inside their 15 with one time out and just over a minute left in the first half.

2:09 PM: The offense finally finds traction, as Minshew leads a 10 play drive that stalls at the Saints 4 yard line, as a pass intended for Geoff Swaim in the end zone sails just wide on 3rd & goal. Lambo ties it up, and we are knotted at 3-3 with the two minute warning approaching. D.J. Chark finally got involved in that drive with 2 catches for 36 yards.

1:58 PM: There’s been two additional drives, see previous post.

1:48 PM: We’re already into the second quarter, and the Jags offense returns to the field following another punting duel between the two teams. The difference thus far, has been field position, with the Jags starting inside their 25 ever possession thus far, and Minshew looking very much like a rookie for the first time.

1:35 PM: Saints grab the first lead of the game on a Will Lutz field goal. Neither quarterback has been able to sustain much of anything yet, but the Saints were the recipient of positive field position to manuever into range. 3-0, Saints.

1:28 PM: Both teams exchanged punts on their first two drives thus far. Gardner Minshew is 2/6 for 10 yards currently and frankly, seems way off from the accurate thrower we’ve seen in his first four starts. Saints take over at Jags 40 with great field position.

1:07 PM: Jags get the Saints off the field after a couple of passes from Teddy Bridgewater net a first down. Pressure on 3rd & 3 by Calais Campbell and Yannick Ngakoue force a throw away, and Dede Westbrook fields the punt at the Jags 10.

1:01 PM: Welcome to kick off, the Jaguars won the toss and have deferred. We’ll see the defense first.

11:30 AM: The Jaguars inactives have been released, and once again Jalen Ramsey is OUT. The “injury” continues. Other news of note, Najee Goode starts in place of rookie Quincy Williams at linebacker, following Williams struggling mightily last week against Carolina.

11:10 AM: It’s “Alumni Day” today as the team celebrates the 25th anniversary and honors former Jags greats in pre-game and halftime ceremonies, so it’s only fitting that the teal jerseys get busted out today.

10:43 AM: One of the biggest question marks for the opponent today has been answered, as Alvin Kamara will be active for today’s game. Pretty simply, if the Jags play run defense against Kamara in the same way they did against Christian McCaffrey, they wont win.
