The Jacksonville Jaguars (3-4) are hosting the lowly New York Jets (1-5) in a game that — like last week — would be inexcusable to win. They’re at home, they’re relatively healthy, and New York is coming off one of their most embarrassing losses in franchise history.

Stay with us all through the day as we live blog the game as it happens, and feel free to join the conversation in the comments as the game progresses. We’ll have post-game coverage as well following the conclusion of the game.

Live blog

4:19 PM: It’s over. Jaguars win 29-15. I love you all.

4:14 PM: THE JAGUARS STADIUM CREW PLAYED THE GHOSTBUSTERS THEME WITH SAM DARNOLD ON THE JUMBOTRON!

3:57 PM: GARDNER MINSHEW! DJ CHARK! TOUCHDOWN! Jaguars up 29-15 on Jets.

3:31 PM: Do not lose this game, Jaguars.

3:30 PM: Sam Darnold drives the Jets down the field and scores ANOTHER touchdown to tight end Ryan Griffin. Two-point conversion is good. Jaguars still up 22-15.

3:14 PM: Hell of a drive by Gardner Minshew and Leonard Fournette there. Ends in a 24-yard field goal by Josh Lambo. Jaguars up 22-7.

3:09 PM: Now the secondary is getting sacks too?!?! Good looks, Ronnie Harrison.

2:48 PM: Dede Westbrook ruled out the rest of the game with a shoulder and neck injury. That means Jacksonville has just THREE active wide receivers unless Marqise Lee comes back — Keelan Cole, Chris Conley, and DJ Chark.

2:33 PM: HALFTIME! Jaguars up 19-7 but the scoreline is closer than the game actually is.

2:21 PM: DAWUANE SMOOT WITH HIS FOURTH SACK OF THE SEASON! JETS PUNT!

2:20 PM: D.J. Hayden is questionable to return after a shoulder injury.

2:16 PM: Josh Lambo is good from 29 yards out! Jaguars up 17-6.

2:15 PM: Jets called for a taunting penalty after the third down stop. Then the ref picks up the flag. Go for two when you’re up by 30.

2:10 PM: This drive is absolute brilliance from Gardner Minshew. I will be breaking this down play by play this week when NFL Gamepass is up.

2:08 PM: Marqise Lee down on the field. Helped up by trainers. He’s questionable to return with a shoulder injury.

1:54 PM: The Good Josh Allen runs down Sam Darnold for a strip-sack! That’s the rookie’s sixth sack of the season and we’re not even halfway through the season!

1:50 PM: Ugh. Gardner Minshew fumbles on third down. The No. 1 priority for Minshew in the offseason will be ball security in the pocket. That’s an awful fumble.

1:49 PM: YANNICK NSACKOUE ON THIRD DOWN!

1:41 PM: TOUCHDOWN! Gardner Minshew spins away from Jamal Adams on the safety blitz to get it to Chris Conley for a 70-yard touchdown! Jaguars up 13-7!

1:34 PM: After the defense is shredded on its first drive, they dial up a linebacker blitz and Tre Herndon gets his first career interception!

1:22 PM: And Sam Darnold just threw a safety valve pass to backup tight end Ryan Griffin, who runs the weakest juke around new linebacker Austin Calitro for a touchdown. Dude looked lost. Jets up 7-6.

1:20 PM: The Jaguars either need to start pressuring with four or get out of this soft zone coverage because watching Sam Darnold march down the field is painful.

1:10 PM: And that’s a touchdown! Gardner Minshew to Keelan Cole on a beautiful route by Cole. Josh Lambo misses the extra point. Jaguars up 6-0.

1:08 PM: Leonard Fournette with a beautiful inside zone run for 66 yards on the third play of the game! Make us eat humble pie, Leonard!

1:00 PM: IT’S GAAAAAAAAAAAME TIIIIIIIMMMMMEEEEEE!

12:50 PM: OH MY GOD.

12:36 PM: Fred Taylor could probably go for 12-55-1 if the team needed him, honestly.

11:46 AM: I’m not crying, you’re cr-OKAY IT’S ME CRYING.

11:35 AM: Oh... and Dede Westbrook is active. If they use him like they did last week he could be in for a big day today.

11:33 AM: Jaguars release their inactive list. Only real surprise is rookie defensive lineman Dontavius Russell on this list. Thought he’d be active after Marcell Dareus was put on injured reserve.

8:02 AM: This is the only way to get ready — reading up on Fil’s individual matchups that will determine today’s game!
