The Jacksonville Jaguars are traveling to play the Carolina Panthers, a huge game for both teams trying to get over .500 and put themselves into a position to take over their respective divisions.
Besides sixth round rookie sensation Gardner Minshew, the big storyline will be Kyle Allen. He’s another young quarterback who has had similar success but with one big difference — a penchant for fumbling the ball. Could this be Yannick Ngakoue’s “get right” game?
Stay with us all through the day as we live blog the game as it happens, and feel free to join the conversation in the comments as the game progresses. We’ll have post-game coverage as well following the conclusion of the game.

Live blog
4:05 PM: The Jaguars made it a one point game at 28-27, but Carolina answers with a touchdown run by some dude not named McCaffrey as the defense simply has been torn to shreds in the run game today. Panthers miss the extra point, however, and we have a 7 point game with 4 minutes left,
3:47 PM: After the Jaguars are unable to move the ball following a defensive stop. The Panthers, re: McCaffrey, gashes the defense down inside the Jags’ 5 yard line. However, after two stops on 2nd and 3rd down, Carolina tries a sweep with McCaffrey on 4th and 1, and Abry Jones blows the play up to stop the drive and get the Jags the ball, still down 4 with 10 minutes left in the game.
3:17 PM: Minshew and company respond quickly with a drive that included a bobbling one-handed grab by O’Shaughnessy and another spectacular catch by Chark that was at first ruled incomplete, but then overturned on replay, giving the Jags the ball at the one yard line. Fournette does the rest with a leaping touchdown dive, and we’re back to a 4 point Carolina lead. 28-24. Minshew is up to 286 yards passing, 2 touchdowns, no picks.
3:02 PM: Jags go three and out on the opening drive of the second half, and within two plays McCaffrey goes untouched into the end zone on an 84 yard scamper. Panthers lead, 28-17.
2:38 PM: The Jags drive down field and just miss a big play with Westbrook dropping a pass at the Carolina 3 yard line on 2nd down. Josh Lambo converts another field goal attempt, his 10th of the season and the lead is cut to 21-17 with a minute left in the half.
2:26 PM: After Kyle Allen hit’s D.J. Moore on a 50 yard pass, Yannick Ngakoue saves the day with a strip sack that is recovered by Carolina but pushes their offense further back and into a 56 yard field goal attempt, that is blocked by Calais Campbell! Jags take over almost at midfield.
2:14 PM: Jaguars answer with a 6 play, 83 yard drive capped off by a 7 yard touchdown pass from Minshew to who else? D.J. Chark. Jags back in this with 6 minutes left in the first half, 21-14.
1:55 PM: On the ensuing drive, Andrew Norwell is pushed into Minshew and knocks the ball loose from his hands, Brian Burns picks it up and runs it in for a Panthers touchdown. 21-7, Panthers. This one is getting away quickly.
1:43 PM: And just like that, Kyle Allen hits McCaffrey over the middle and he dusts Myles Jack for the walk in touchdown. Costly, costly turnover for the Jags. 14-7, Panthers.
1:38 PM: Jags and Panthers have exchange punts, then the Jags fumble the ball away deep in their own territory following a botched handoff that went off the pads of DeValve playing fullback.
1:17 PM: Well, well...Minshew takes the Jags on their first drive and goes 3/3 for 72 yards, finishing with a 33 yard dime to D.J. Chark for a Jags touchdown! Fantastic start for the offense. We’re tied at 7.
1:11 PM: Stupid penalties by the Myles Jack and Tre Herndon and the Jags inability to do anything to stop Christian McCaffrey, lead to the Panthers driving down field on the opening drive and capitalizing with a 7 yard acrobatic touchdown run by the third-year back. That was real easy for Carolina. 7-0, Panthers.
1:01 PM: We have arrived to kick off, and the Jaguars will be on defense first as the they win the coin toss and deferred.
11:37 AM: Both teams have released their game day inactives, and no big surprises thankfully for the Jaguars. Corner D.J. Hayden was a late add to the injury report yesterday, but appears to be a go.
