The Jacksonville Jaguars (4-5) have a prime opportunity to get back into the playoff hunt this weekend against the Indianapolis Colts (5-4). A win moves them up the Wild Card standings. A loss, effectively, ruins any realistic chance this team has of getting to the postseason.
IT’S JAGUARS FOOTBALL, BAY-BEE!
On paper, it’s gonna be a close game. The Jaguars are just three-point underdogs and the over/under is 44.0 points, so expect something in the ballpark of a 24-21 final score. Pick your Jaguars players wisely in DraftKings or standard fantasy football formats and you could do well.
Who’s gonna stand out? Here are my predictions:
K Josh Lambo
That’s right. The suggested starts begin with a kicker. But Indianapolis is 25th in the league in giving up points to opposing kickers. Their defense does well at shutting down offenses close to the goal line so I think Lambo could be in for a big day yet again.
Fantasy projection: 3-for-3 field goals (including 1-for-1 from 50+ yards), 2-for-2 extra points
RB Leonard Fournette
Aside from the offensive line and quarterback, Fournette has seen the most snaps of any player on the offensive side of the ball. He’s been in on 88.9 percent of snaps. My God. But with that sort of volume, he’s going to produce. Indianapolis hasn’t given up a ton of points to opposing running backs, but Fournette is going to see the vast majority of production in the run game so he’s a must-start if he’s not injured.
Fantasy projection: 120 total yards, 5 receptions, 1 touchdown
WR Chris Conley
Matthew Berry hating Conley as a fantasy prospect is almost reason enough to start him. BUT... I think Indianapolis is going to key in on DJ Chark and limit his opportunities. If Nick Foles can be better than Gardner Minshew at extending drives, he’s going to have to do it through their possession receiver. I think Conley sees double-digit targets on Sunday.
Fantasy projection: 8 receptions, 95 yards, 1 touchdown
