Former Jaguars HC Jack Del Rio: ‘The Jaguars have issues, Nick Foles is not one of them’

Count former Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Jack Del Rio is one of the voices in the minority defending quarterback Nick Foles. Appearing on ESPN late Tuesday night, Del Rio discussed the Jaguars’ problems briefly, but said that Foles isn’t one of them.

“The Jaguars have issues. Nick Foles is not one of them.”

I will go so far as to say that Foles is not the only problem this Jaguars team has. Far from it, actually. They are poorly coached on both sides of the ball, the roster was built with gaping holes at some positions (linebacker and tight end) and high-priced, underperforming players at others (offensive line and quarterback), and players are just straight not doing their job.

But to say that Foles, who threw two interceptions and couldn’t even get to 300 yards on 47 pass attempts, is not an issue is asinine. He’s a problem. Not the problem, but a problem for sure, and the sooner the Jaguars can admit their mistakes the better.

What do you think? Is Foles one of several issues with this team? Is he the issue in your mind? Let us know in the comments below!
