Jack missed the first game of his NFL career last Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a knee injury and many speculated that Jack could just end up in injured reserve with the 2019 season essentially over and done with. It looks like that is the direction the Jaguars are going, just shutting him down for the remainder of the season.
Ironically, the loss of Jack might actually improve the defensive front seven, considering the type of season Jack was having. He struggled in 2019 settling into the middle linebacker role after 2018 season that led most to think he was ready to make the big jump and star as the guy in the middle of the defense, but in reality it was a rough 12 games in 2019 marred by missed assignments and tackles.
Donald Payne filled in for Jack last week and played well, so it will be interesting to watch how he plays the rest of the season.
