The NFL released their schedules this week, so now we know exactly when the Jacksonville Jaguars will be playing the other teams for the 2019 season. I’m not going to go through a full breakdown of the schedule, but at first glance one thing stood out to me like a sore thumb...
The first six weeks of the schedule are absolutely brutal.
The team opens with the Kansas City Chiefs, who is considered one of the favorites for the Super Bowl in 2019. The one benefit to the game being Week 1 is that it will probably be the healthiest you will be all season and the fact that no one has film of Nick Foles as a Jacksonville Jaguars player. The defense did fine against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs last season, but couldn’t hold up under the poor offense and turnovers.
The very next week the Jaguars travel to Houston to take on the Texans, then have a short week to meet up with the Tennessee Titans at home on Thursday Night Football. After that they head to Denver to take on Joe Flacco and the Broncos followed up with an away trip to face the Carolina Panthers and then returning home to take on the New Orleans Saints.
Whew.
That’s a brutal run through to start the season.
