Last week the Jacksonville Jaguars reported for voluntary workouts and two big name players were absent, in cornerback Jalen Ramsey and linebacker Telvin Smith. Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone said he hadn’t directly spoken to either player, but did send them a text message and hadn’t heard back.
Marrone said on Monday during the team’s annual NFL Draft media session that he hadn’t heard back from Smith and isn’t sure why he’s not there, but he did end up speaking with Ramsey and they had a great talk. One of the issues with not getting a response back with Ramsey was that Marrone didn’t have the right number...
Doug Marrone says he talked to CB Jalen Ramsey on Friday. Marrone said he had Ramsey’s wrong number when he tried to reach out initially.

Ok, I laughed.
Everyone knew Jalen Ramsey wasn’t going to be at voluntary workouts and anyone surprised hasn’t paid attention lately.
The real question is why Telvin Smith isn’t there. Unlike Ramsey, he’s not in the search for a new contract because he’s already been paid. As far as were aware there is no family issue like a new baby, a death, or anything like that. Telvin has been entrenched as the weakside linebacker and there hasn’t been anyone brought in that would take over his spot, so it’s a bit odd why he’s not at voluntary workouts.
