At the Jacksonville Jaguars pre-draft media luncheon on Monday afternoon, VP of football Tom Coughlin was asked about Jaguars running back Leonard Fournette, who has been the subject of a lot of news and speculation since the end of the season. It sounds like so far, Fournette is doing everything he needs to do.
Coughlin on Leonard Fournette: “Leonard is here. He’s working hard. He has done a lot to put himself in the type of condition that he wants to be at this point in the offseason. I just asked him to go to work.” #Jaguars

I’d like to say that’s good news, but the cynic in me says good job for doing what you’re supposed to be doing at this point in the season?
Since being selected with the fourth overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, Fournette’s NFL career has hit a ton of roadblocks and set backs. He was decent his rookie season, giving the Jaguars someone they could lean on to get some relief of offense and someone who could actually score touchdowns in the redzone.
The 2018 season for Fournette however was an abject disaster. He missed seven games due to injury and an eighth due to an NFL suspension for fighting in the loss to the Buffalo Bills late in the season. There was a lot of bad news that aired out with Fournette as the season ended and it sounded like he could get shipped off, but it appears the team is giving him one last chance and so far so good.
