Jaguars select Gardner Minshew

The Jacksonville Jaguars have selected quarterback Gardner Minshew with their sixth round pick, number 178 overall.

Minshew shined in his final season at Washington State, his first full season as a starter, throwing for 4,779 yards for 38 touchdowns to 9 interceptions, with an impressive 70.7% completion percentage, albeit in Mike Leach’s “Air Raid” offense that is known for passers putting up gaudy numbers.

He is known for having solid mechanics and having decent comfort in the pocket. However his lack of arm strength, passer friendly scheme, and size (listed at 6’0 and 225 lbs.), along with his short resume, dropped him out of the top tier of draft eligible passers.

The Jaguars have two picks remaining in the seventh round.
