The Jacksonville Jaguars boasted one of the worst quarterback rooms in the NFL last season and trying to fix was reportedly an absolute circus as Robert Griffin III said on the Baltimore Ravens team podcast — “The Lounge Podcast” — that Jacksonville tried to trade for him last season... twice!
Thanks to Sean Wagner-McGough of CBS Sports for transcribing his Jaguars-related sound bite:
“Jacksonville tried to trade for me at the end of the preseason and right before the trade deadline, so we knew that was an opportunity and there’d be a chance if things didn’t work out with Nick Foles.”
First, damn.
Second, this goes to show just how little faith the team had in Blake Bortles. You try multiple times to “fix” your situation at quarterback with a guy who has completed two passes since 2016? You couldn’t even throw a flier out for Colin Kaepernick?
Third, go Jaguars.
