Minshew will enter the summer as the penciled in back up to Nick Foles following the team’s release of 2018 back up and eventual starter, Cody Kessler earlier in the day. He faces competition from last year’s sixth round pick Tanner Lee and fellow first year player Alex McGough.
Russell begins his Jaguars career as added depth to the nose tackle position, and will likely be facing off with Eli Ankou to be the back up for Abry Jones come September.
The Jaguars now have two of their seven drafted rookies under contract.
