Jaguars sign RB Devante Mays

NFL: Baltimore Ravens at Green Bay Packers Appleton Post-Crescent-USA TODAY Sports

The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed running back Devante Mays to their 90-man roster. To make room on the roster, the Jaguars waived/injured rookie running back Taj McGowan. McGowan will revert to injured reserve if he clears waivers.

Mays attended Utah State and was drafted in the seventh round (238th overall) in the 2017 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers. He played in eight games for Green Bay in 2017 and registered four rushes for 1 yard and three receptions for 0 yards.

In 2018, Mays spent Weeks 8-17 on the Cleveland Browns practice squad.

Mays attended Utah State and recorded 1,225 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns on 202 rushing attempts in 19 games (eight starts) from 2015-2016. Prior to Utah State, Mays played at Blinn (Texas) Junior College in 2014 and Tyler (Texas) Junior College in 2013.
