Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone notified the media prior to practice Monday morning that left tackle Cam Robinson would be returning to practice and coming off the physically unable to perform (PUP) list, which means he will likely be ready to start Week 1 of the regular season.
While overall, Robinson coming off PUP so quickly shouldn’t be much of a surprise, it is a bit weird considering that just 48 hours ago on Saturday, Marrone painted an non-optimistic view of both Robinson and wide receiver Marqise Lee making it back off the PUP list for the start of the regular season.
I Tweeted over the weekend that the Robinson part of that was a little surprising because everything I had heard was that Robinson would be available after Week 1 of the preseason, so maybe he had a set back.
Marrone didn’t have an explanation for Robinson’s miraculous turnaround, but to start out on Monday he will participate in walk-thrus and individual drills.
