The Jaguars received a bit of positive news on the injury front Saturday, as the team’s medical staff cleared wide receiver Marqise Lee to return to practice. The team officially removed Lee from the Physically Unable to Perform list this afternoon, and announced that Lee would be a participant in today’s practice session.
Only a week ago, head coach Doug Marrone speculated that neither Lee nor offensive tackle Cam Robinson would be ready to go for the season opener against Kansas City. Now it appears both may indeed be ready to go when the regular season opens, as Robinson was cleared for practice this past Monday.
Lee should be more slowly worked back to full speed than Robinson. I would still not expect to see either play in the remaining preseason, however, as the team’s abundance of caution regarding injuries will likely prohibit either from being allowed to risk re-injury prior to the season beginning. None the less, a positive sign for both the team and players.
