The Jacksonville Jaguars have claimed tight end Donnie Ernsberger to their 90-man active roster. To make room on the roster, the Jaguars waived/injured rookie tight end Michael Colubiale (concussion protocol).
Colubiale will revert to the team’s reserve/injured list if he clears waivers.
Ernsberger attended Western Michigan and signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers following the 2018 NFL Draft. He spent Weeks 13-15 on the Buccaneers’ practice squad and played in Tampa Bay’s final two games of the regular season.
A native of Battle Creek, Michigan, Ernsberger played for Western Michigan from 2014-2017 as a fullback and tight end. As a senior, Ernsberger caught 34 passes for 394 yards and four touchdowns and was named second-team All-MAC.
