The Jacksonville Jaguars are starting their season without Blake Bortles as the starting quarterback for the first time since 2014. It could have been another rookie taking his place, but count wide receiver Dede Westbrook excited that it’s now Super Bowl MVP quarterback Nick Foles.
Speaking after practice on Tuesday afternoon, Westbrook says that caliber of quarterback is what this team has been “lacking” in recent years.
WR Dede Westbrook: ''Nothing against Blake (Bortles) at all, Blake is a great friend of mine, but to be out there with Nick (Foles), a Super Bowl MVP quarterback, obviously that’s what we’ve been lacking.'' #Jaguars

Is Foles a top tier quarterback in the NFL? No. There are no delusions here that he’s below the likes of Tom Brady, Phillip Rivers, or even former teammate Carson Wentz.
But is Foles better than Bortles? It’s not a high bar to clear, but all signs point to yes.
