The Jaguars have added to their crowded running back room on Sunday, after reportedly signing former Minnesota Vikings back Roc Thomas.
An undrafted free agent in 2018 out of Jacksonville St., Thomas spent time on and off the Vikings active roster, gaining 51 yards off 10 touches last season in limited action. He is more of a versatile threat out of the backfield than what is currently behind Leonard Fournette, and is likely being brought on due to Thomas Rawls’ limited availability as he treats a nagging hamstring issue.
Should Thomas make the team, they will be without his services for the first three games of the regular season, as he was suspended by the league in July following a guilty plea to felony marijuana possession in the spring. He will reportedly travel with the team to Baltimore today, and is eligible to play in all four preseason games.
