The Jacksonville Jaguars have traveled to take on the Houston Texans this afternoon in Week 2 of the 2019 NFL season. Can Gardner Minshew continue to play almost perfect? Will the defense rebound from an awful season opener? Does anyone look as handsome as Josh Lambo?

Stay with us all through the afternoon as we live blog the game as it happens, and feel free to join the conversation in the comments as the day progresses. We’ll have post-game coverage as well following the conclusion of the game.

LET’S GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

How to watch

Need to find out how to watch, stream, or listen to today’s game? We got you covered here.

Live blog

4:01 PM: Minshew guides the team down field and scores what should’ve been the game tying touchdown, but Doug Marrone is a moron and blows the two point conversion call with a hand off to Fournette who is stopped an inch short of the goal line. The game is over.

3:33 PM: The Jaguars go on an 86 yard drive, resulting in a Lambo field goal. Minshew showed well on the drive to get the team into scoring range. 13-6 Houston.

3:18 PM: Minshew fumbles once again, his third dropped ball of the day while being hit. JJ Watt recovers, and it leads to Deshaun Watson trotting into the end zone on a 4th & 1 from inside the Jags 5 yard line. Texans lead 13-3 with time running out and the Jags offense floundering.

3:10 PM: Another couples of drives, another exchanging of punts. 6-3 as we enter the fourth quarter.

2:48 PM: The Jags force a three and out, but Jalen Ramsey dropped what should’ve been a pick six that could’ve dramatically altered the game. That’s a play that is going to come back and bite them.

2:45 PM: Neither team opens up with much on offense as both have opening drives stall to begin the second half. Minshew looks more tentative and indecisive than last week.

2:21 PM: Texans march down the field thanks in large part to a Watson to Stills 34 yard gain, Jags hold Houston to a field goal as time expires on half number one, 6-3 Texans. The defense for the Jags has been excellent, the offense has missed too many opportunities.

2:07 PM: Minshew leads the first good drive for the Jags offense on the day, getting them into range for Josh Lambo to kick the tying field goal. Fournette had a nice run but couldnt make the safety miss. 3-3 tie with two minute warning approaching for the half.

1:59 PM: The Jaguars defense has answered the call thus far outside of the one field goal drive. Another sack featuring D.J. Hayden and Calais Campbell leads to a third three and out. Now the offense HAS to get something going. Minshew has been in the right plays, but just missing them.

1:47 PM: Myles Jack and Leon Jacobs combine for what is officially the first sack of the season for the Jags. The Texans punt to inside the Jags 20. Defense hasn’t played poorly but the offense cant get anything going. (Sound familiar) Anyway here is the aforementioned Ramsey/Marrone dust up..

1:40 PM: The Jags offense is sputtering as Minshew is getting a beating, but the bigger issue is on the sidelines as Ramsey and Doug Marrone had to be separated following the defense coming off the field the last drive...not good, folks.

1:29 PM: Houston takes a missed opportunity at a big play on the Jags ensuing drive as Minshew just missed a wide open Chark downfield, and run their own offense into scoring range, finally settling for a converted field goal to take a 3-0 lead.

1:12 PM: The first possession for Houston ends in a three and out, after two good stops in coverage by Jalen Ramsey on DeAndre Hopkins short of the sticks forces the Texans punt. Jags take over at their 24. That’s the first three and out for the Jags defense this season.

1:06 PM: Jags open with the ball and get a first down on a Minshew to Chark pass, but the rookie is sacked on 2nd & 9 and the Jags can do nothing but dump off on 3rd & 17 to force the first punt of Logan Cooke’s day. Texans take over at their 26.

1:00 PM: Kick off has arrived, let’s hope the Jags make a game of it this week.

12:38 PM: Nothing of note for the Texans inactives, though we wont see Alex McGough today sadly.

12:28 AM: Seen here, Calais Campbell and a fan...

11:51 AM: Here is the full inactive list from the team, and well, we were spot on. Does look like the Jags will have Ronnie Harrison in uniform though.

9:51 AM: The inactive list is pretty much decided with all the players injured today:

DE Yannick Ngakoue, CB A.J. Bouye, WR Marqise Lee, OL Cedric Ogbuehi, and TE Josh Oliver are all out.

OT Cam Robinson is out, but not due to injury — coach’s decision.

SS Ronnie Harrison was a late addition to the injury report and he’s doubtful to play.

Go Jaguars.
