The Jacksonville Jaguars (0-1) are traveling to play the Houston Texans (0-1) to see if there’s anything to salvage of this season. Going down 0-2 is going to be rough, folks, so both teams are going to be desperate to avoid it.
Before the game begins, we wanted to ask the Big Cat Country team (and you!) a simple question:
“How will the Jaguars do against the Texans today?”
Alfie Crow (@AlfieBCC)
Prior to Yannick Ngakoue and A.J. Bouye being ruled out I was going with the Jaguars, however with both of those guys being out I’m going to go with the Jaguars.

Half our starting offense is out and we’re on the road against a legitimate MVP candidate in Deshaun Watson.
Texans win 27-17

The Jaguars follow up a Week 1 dismantling from an explosive offense loaded with speed and a great young quarterback, with another explosive offense loaded with speed and a great young quarterback. This time without their best edge rusher and on the road. Gardner Minshew plays okay again, but this defense has some real problems that are finally getting exposed.
Texans win 30-16

The Jaguars hang tough, but at the end of the day, Deshaun Watson and DeAndre Hopkins are too much to handle. Houston’s pass rush puts pressure on rookie quarterback Gardner Minshew, but he remains poised and keeps the Jaguars in it for the majority of the game. The defense has a much better showing with multiple sacks on Watson and no huge chunk plays given up, but the Texans score just enough points to win.
Bold(er) prediction: Gardner Minshew continues to impress by completing at least 65 percent his passes with no turnovers.
Texans win 27-21

The defense gets back to their SACKSONVILLE status, just as the doctor prescribes every time they get to feast on the Texans offensive line. The addition of Josh Allen helps spell Calais Campbell and Yannick Ngakoue on the edges, who are both limited by injuries. Gardner Minshew throws a bad interception early to put a damper on Minhew Mania, but then shows the ice in his jock strap by leading a fourth quarter drive for a game-winning Lambo field goal.
Jaguars win 24-23

Jaguars go against another high powered offense this Sunday but this week I believe the defensive line will get a lot of pressure and bring down DeShaun Watson. They should come away with at least three sacks.
Jaguars win 21-17

Watson’s short history vs the Jaguars does not invoke fear. Three total touchdowns. Two through the air courtesy of Hopkins. I was fanboy positive before I heard Yan was a scratch. Now...I don’t know. Odd to say but I trust the offense more than the defense.
And I trust Todd Wash even less. That said, my glasses are so damn teal.
Bold(er) prediction: The good Josh Allen announces his presence with authority — three sacks!
Jaguars win 20-17
