Jaguars cornerback A.J. Bouye expected to play Thursday Night against Titans

While this may not be the case moving forward this season, the Jacksonville Jaguars are expected to have both current starting cornerbacks active against the Tennessee Titans for Thursday night’s prime time matchup.

NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport reports that while banged up, A.J. Bouye is expected to play tonight. Bouye missed Sunday’s contest against the Houston Texans with a hip injury.

Bouye struggled against the high-powered Kansas City Chiefs’ offense in Week 1, but so did the entire defense. He’ll look to bounce back against the rival Titans, a team that throughly embarrassed him last season.

Bouye is technically listed as questionable for tonight’s contest. He has been limited in practice this week. But he seems to be trending in the right direction and all signs point toward him being on the field tonight.

Of course, the headlines this week were dominated by Bouye’s running mate, Jalen Ramsey, who (in case you’ve been living under a rock) requested a trade this week. Ramsey is also expected to play tonight, which begs the question, is the last time Bouye and Ramsey play together with each in a Jaguars uniform? It very well could be as Friday is expected to be the “target date” to move Ramsey.

The Jaguars might still have a chance to salvage the situation with Ramsey, but that seems like a long shot at best. If Thursday night is the last time we see Bouye and Ramsey together in the same secondary, let’s enjoy it while we still can. Both players will give their all while they’re competing.
