The Jacksonville Jaguars had their way with the Tennessee Titans in the passing game, especially at the beginning of the game, but the run game was almost entirely non-existent.
Aside from a 69 yard run in the fourth quarter by Leonard Fournette, the Jaguars ran for just 19 yards on 19 carries... and Titans safety Kevin Byard was frustrated about it.
“We pretty much shut them down the entire game, except for that last run towards the end,” Byard said shortly after the loss. “A couple of big plays. We have to cut down on the penalties all together on offense, defense, special teams. I think we showed great effort and I think that will show on film when we watch film tomorrow.”
I’m sorry, Kevin, but I’m gonna have to stop you right there.
Shutting down the run game aside, you allowed a rookie quarterback in his second ever start pass for 6.8 yards per attempt and two touchdowns with zero turnovers.
And it wasn’t just a couple of big plays. Minshew distributed the ball quite well. Five players had multiple receptions and the longest pass play was only 37 yards. Y’all just got beat.
