The Jacksonville Jaguars will be traveling to play the Houston Texans in Week 5 of the 2020 NFL season.
Jacksonville will be looking for a bounce back game after two straight weeks of giving teams their first win. James Robinson figures to get a lot of work against a poor Houston run defense, but really today is all about the defense. Our secondary is depleted and Josh Allen will be out, meaning Deshaun Watson will have plenty of opportunity to take over the game.
Stay with us all through the day as we live blog the game as it happens, and feel free to join the conversation in the comments as the day progresses. We’ll have postgame coverage as well following the conclusion of the game.
LET’S GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

3:59 PM: Game over. The defense wasn’t great but they weren’t the reason we lost.

3:42 PM: Brandin Cooks with a 34-yard touchdown on fourth down. It’s over. Jaguars down 30-14.
3:28 PM: Deshaun Watson made it look easy on that drive. Ka’imi Fairbairn is good from 46 yards out. Jaguars now down 23-14 in the fourth quarter.
3:20 PM: TOUCHDOWN JAGUARS! Collin Johnson gets his first NFL touchdown. Still down a score.

2:47 PM: Jaguars punt after three-and-out. You have to lean on James Robinson in these situations. I don’t care if it’s a loss on first down. Gardner Minshew has had 25 pass plays called. James Robinson has 9 carries. That’s inexcusable in this game.
2:40 PM: Ka’imi Fairbairn is good from 33 yards out. This game is close to getting out of hand.
2:17 PM: Stephen Hauschka just missed a 49-yard field goal. Never kick.
2:15 PM: Sidney Jones picks off Deshaun Watson! Let’s go!

2:13 PM: Stephen Hauschka missed a 24-yard field goal. Good Lord.
1:57 PM: Aaaaaaaaand the lead is gone. Darren Fells finds a soft spot in the coverage for a 44-yard touchdown.
This is where they miss Myles Jack. #Texans TE Darren Fells goes for a 44-yard touchdown.#Jaguars down 10-7 now. pic.twitter.com/4Br0NESj4r

1:36 PM: Ka’imi Fairbairn with the 36-yard field goal. Defense bends but doesn’t break. Any drive that ends in a punt, turnover, or field goal for the Texans should be considered a win.
1:12 PM: WE FORCED A PUNT ON THE OPENING DRIVE! DRINK!
1:10 PM: Deshaun Watson is killing us.
1:07 PM: James Robinson gets 11 yards on the first play of the game and then Gardner Minshew follows up with a six-yard pass, an incompletion, and a sack. Drink.
1:00 PM: Jaguars win the toss and will start on offense. Let’s get this over with.
11:39 AM: The Jaguars have their three best defenders out today. Go Jaguars!

The #Titans announce they’ve also shut down their facility temporarily after a staff member tested positive for COVID-19.

6:39 AM: Not as big of news, but still helpful to the Jaguars — safety Jarrod Wilson and linebacker Quincy Williams have been activated and will play today against Houston.
We have moved LB @quincywilliams_ and S Jarrod Wilson to the team’s 53-man roster from the reserve/injured-designated for return list.

We also utilized a practice squad standard elevation spot on DL Caraun Reid (@ChopReid). pic.twitter.com/cBUd1barlw
6:30 AM: This is big news that came out last night. With C.J. Henderson questionable and D.J. Hayden out, Deshaun Watson could be throwing against a secondary missing several of its starting defensive backs and the only pass rusher with double digit quarterback pressures on the season. Yikes.
DE Josh Allen (knee) has been downgraded to OUT, as he will not travel with the team to Houston this evening.
