Jaguars lose 5th straight in blowout to Lions

NFL: Detroit Lions at Jacksonville Jaguars Douglas DeFelice-USA TODAY Sports

The Jacksonville Jaguars got blown out by the Detroit Lions on Sunday afternoon, 34-16, to lose their fifth game of the season. In fact, it was the Jaguars fifth loss in a row and third loss in a row to what many would consider a bad football team.

The Jaguars offense started with the ball and promptly punted, the defense gave up a touchdown and it was off to the races.

Quarterback Gardner Minshew struggled to get the offense going early, and due to an early turnover and ineffectiveness in the redzone, the offensive game plan seemed to abandon the run.

The Jaguars defense did well early, but fell apart late after an early forced turnover in the second half. Truth be told, it was a boring game to watch from a Jaguars game perspective and if you ended up stealing a little bit of a nap, no one would blame you.

The easiest part of the Jaguars schedule is done, and they sit at 1-5.
