Week 8 NFL odds: Best lines to play and bet your mortgage on the Cleveland Browns and Las Vegas Raiders

NFL: Cleveland Browns at Oakland Raiders Cary Edmondson-USA TODAY Sports

We are nearing the midseason point of the Bet Your Mortgage column and we are in the green. Last week was a big nothing burger until the late games when we rode the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers to a small win.

Stay the course. Trust the process. Get better everyday.

How does Week 8 look and what are the best games to throw some money at? Let’s check it out!

Note: I used Bovada odds on Thursday afternoon.

Carolina Panthers (-1.5) vs. Atlanta Falcons

The Panthers are in the thick of a fight for the NFC South and the Falcons are battling for the No. 1 overall draft pick. I know who I’m taking in a near heads up bet.

Bet on the Panthers to win by more than a point.

Buffalo Bills (-4.0) vs. New England Patriots

Is this the game where Buffalo gets vengeance on Bill Belichick for all that dominance? Yes. Yes it is. Go win the game, Good Josh Allen.

Bet on the Bills to win by more than four points.

New York Jets (+19.5) at Kansas City Chiefs

Good friend of the column Jeff Risdon had a statistic that makes me feel better about putting actual American dollars on the Jets: “In eight prior instances of a spread of at least 20 points, only one team (the 1976 Steelers, arguably the best defense in NFL history) has covered the margin in the victory.”

Bet on the Jets to swim upstream and not lose by a historical margin.

Cleveland Browns vs. Las Vegas Raiders (over 51.0)

This game is going to be over 51.0 by the third quarter. Book it.

Bet your mortgage on the Browns and Raiders to score, score, score.

Overall: 17-11-0 (60.7%)

Bet Your Mortgage: 4-3-0 (57.1%)
