Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon will reportedly play against the Jacksonville Jaguars despite being listed as questionable on the injury report, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Bengals’ RB Joe Mixon, added to the injury report Saturday with a chest injury that left him questionable, is expected to play Sunday vs. the Jaguars, per source.— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) October 4, 2020
So far this year, Mixon hasn’t really done very much with the limited opportunities given to him. Joe Burrow has attempted three times as many passes as running backs have rushes, but Mixon has still gotten 164 yards on 52 rushes for 3.2 yards per carry and zero touchdowns. This Bengals offense goes as Burrow and the passing game goes, so it will be a strong test for a young Jaguars secondary still trying to find its way.
If Mixon is limited on snaps, Giovani Bernard would be the next man up. Regardless of Mixon playing today, I think Bernard is in line to get a good number of snaps. Second-year running back Trayveon Williams and veteran Samaje Perine could also get limited snaps.
