We are feeling very embarrassed here at the Bet Your Mortgage column. 0-4 last week. Inexcusable. We will regroup.
Stay the course. Trust the process. Get better everyday.
How does Week 9 look and what are the best games to throw some money at? Let’s check it out!
Note: I used Bovada odds on Thursday afternoon.
Green Bay Packers (-7.0) at San Francisco 49ers
Aaron Rodgers doesn’t have any running backs but he does have Davante Adams and he’ll be throwing against practice squad players. The 49ers will play without Jimmy Garoppolo, George Kittle, and several receivers.
Bet on the Packers to win by more than a touchdown.
Kansas City Chiefs (-10.5) vs. Carolina Panthers
Yes, Christian McCaffrey is likely to come back this game, but I don’t see it moving the needle against the absolute machine that Kansas City has been in recent weeks.
Bet on the Chiefs to win in a blowout.
Arizona Cardinals (-4.5) vs. Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins are playing decent football (with a defense that is lowkey good) and could actually be a playoff team this year. But I don’t see them standing up against another lowkey good defense in Arizona with an offense to match it.
Bet on the Cardinals to win by at least five points.
Houston Texans (-7.0) vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
Jake Luton.
Bet your mortgage on the Texans to win by more than a touchdown.
Overall: 17-15-0 (53.1%)
Bet Your Mortgage: 4-4-0 (50.0%)
