Let’s answer some Jacksonville Jaguars questions after our 10th straight loss of the season — this time at the hands of the Cleveland Browns!
Today we’re talking about finishing out the string, cleaning house, and looking five years into the future.
Art from Drexel Hill, PA
Q: Would you bring Gardner Minshew back to start or not risk him winning a game?
A: If it were up to me, we’d have A.J. Cann at quarterback.
Glenn from Jacksonville, FL
Q: Why does Shad Khan have to exist?
A: As long as there are civic leaders ready and willing to debase themselves for the opportunity to sit at the cool kids’ table, there will always be people like Shad Khan. I know this is a football blog, but this team stinks out loud and I think this Lot J stuff is major news. The Mayor of Jacksonville went on Twitter last night and actively endorsed a billionaire’s efforts to hold this city hostage for the princely sum of hundreds of millions of dollars in taxpayer money.
4. Don’t bring another Touch Down Jax to the next administration to save the team. It won’t work. They did good/ important work that got & secured the team. I was a part of the 2nd version. But those days are gone. Our decision point is now. Go on the record as a yes or a no.

What has Shad Khan done to deserve such blind trust? What has he really done for Jacksonville? Pools? Scoreboards? A few million to MOSH? Why is that worth a substantial sum of money that could otherwise be spent preventing gun violence in a city setting homicide records... or that could be building public schools with functioning air conditioning... or that could do literally anything other than line the pockets of the guy who just sold his yacht last month?
Okay, back to football.
Chris from Dubuque, IA
Q: Do you see the house being cleaned with Dave Caldwell being fired?
A: Yup. Black Monday is (finally!) going to be very interesting for us this year.
Keith from Jacksonville, FL
Q: Will Shad Khan be overly patient in the next general manager? Or are we doomed for another seven out of eight double digits loss years.
A: You know, that’s an interesting question. I’d like to say no, he won’t be overly patient and that he’s learned his lesson. But he didn’t seem to learn it with Gus Bradley or Tom Coughlin, so I think Shad Khan will be who he’s been since he got here.
Austin from Jacksonville, FL
Q: Is there... hope?
A: Hope springs eternal, Austin. You know that.
Gavin from Inverness, FL
Q: Which quarterback out of Mike Glennon, Jake Luton, and Gardner Minshew is most likely to play the rest of the games this season?
A: I’d put my money on Mike Glennon. He looked much better than expected on Sunday and I think he gives the team the best chance to win. That’s the only criteria by which Doug Marrone and this coaching staff will make their decision. Who gives the team the best chance to win? Regardless of who plays under center, I think this team has one more win in them at best and I don’t think the New York Jets have a win in them. We should probably be getting cozy at the No. 2 overall draft spot.
Brian from Yulee, FL
Q: Where do you see the Jaguars in five years? Still in the toilet or Super Bowl bound?
A: Somewhere in between. Not eliminated from playoff contention in November would be a great start.
Scott from Jacksonville, FL
Q: If the Jets lose one game and the Jaguars lose out, who gets the number one draft pick?
A: Based on strength of schedule right now, the Jaguars would get the first overall pick. I don’t know how things play out the rest of the season though in terms of common opponents and things of that nature. Just lose, baby.
