We’re onto Day 2 of the 2020 edition of NFL free agency — and the Jacksonville Jaguars are expected to be busy today.
We’re going to try and gather every piece of news, every rumor, and every update in our live blogs through the rest of the week right here. We love you all.
4:47 PM: Spending big on their secondary! They traded away A.J. Bouye and they’re immediately replacing him with former Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Darqueze Dennard.
Former #Bengals CB Darqueze Dennard is headed to the #Jaguars, source said. The former first rounder lands in Jax as they continue to add.

4:01 PM: Jason Witten can make HOW MUCH now?
Jason Witten can make up to $4.75 million in 2020, per @toddarcher. https://t.co/hvkdzTizGT

3:54 PM: Ummmm... well... I see...
The #Colts get their deal done, agreeing to terms with QB Philip Rivers, source said. He gets roughly $25M. The bolo lands in Indy, while Indy continues its restocking with big pieces on both sides of the ball.

3:53 PM: The Jaguars will be facing Philip Rivers twice next season if Adam Schefter of ESPN is to be trusted.
Former Chargers' QB Philip Rivers and the Colts reached agreement on a 1-year deal, per source.

3:18 PM: If Baldy is excited, I’m excited.
That’s right, folks... we have a #BaldyBreakdown on new #Jaguars LB Joe Schobert.

2:46 PM: Joe Schobert is a fantastic signing for the Jaguars. Solid middle linebacker who allows Myles Jack to play his more natural position outside. Get excited.
Former #Browns LB Joe Schobert is headed to the #Jaguars on a 5-year, $53.75M deal, source said. He gets an average of $10.75M per year. $12M to sign and $22.5M guaranteed. A new face on that Jax defense.

1:19 PM: Interesting. The Jaguars have handed out another tender, this time to linebacker Austin Calitro.
Jaguars are giving LB Austin Calitro an exclusive rights tender to keep him around. He appeared in 13 games in 2019, and posted 10-plus tackles in two of his four starts

1:07 PM: Did not see this coming. Jacksonville applies a second-round tender to wide receiver Keelan Cole. When he was allowed to be on the field, Cole produced in 2019 — 24 receptions, 361 yards, and three touchdowns.
Per source, the #Jaguars have applied a 2nd-round RFA tender to WR Keelan Cole, who has posted 104 career receptions for 1,600 yards and 7 TDs in three seasons in Jacksonville.

12:52 PM: The first reported cut by the Jaguars is veteran tight end Geoff Swaim. Swaim was never going to be on the books for Jacksonville going into the 2020 NFL season — the Jaguars will absorb a $250,000 cap hit for cutting him but the $3,987,500 cap hit they avoid taking results in a net $3,737,500 savings against the cap.
The #Jaguars are releasing TE Geoff Swain, source said, moving on from the former Cowboy.
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) March 17, 2020
12:12 PM: Leonard Floyd is going to be a free agent. I wonder if the Jaguars make a run at him.
The #Bears are also planning to release former first-rounder Leonard Floyd, source said.

11:00 AM: The NFL is gonna look quite different next season. Cam Newton will probably be in a different place.
#Panthers give Cam Newton permission to seek a tradehttps://t.co/Vf3GSBVA1j

10:26 AM: Tom Brady is leaving the New England Patriots. The end of an era.

10:18 AM: The dominoes are falling for the quarterbacks, folks. Drew Brees staying in New Orleans.
The #Saints agree to terms with QB Drew Brees, source said. He gets a 2-year deal worth roughly $50M. Never in doubt, but now done. And Brees took less to help the team continue to build.
