The Jacksonville Jaguars made a moderate splash in free agency this year with their subtractions being more important than their additions.
They signed middle linebacker Joe Schobert and interior defensive lineman Rodney Gunter — two players I think will have a major impact. They also got a stop-gap at tight end in Tyler Eifert who isn’t great, but is probably their best player since Marcedes Lewis left.
Nick Foles leads the group that left, allowing Gardner Minshew to assume the starting quarterback role... at least until the 2020 NFL Draft.
All that said, not a bad free agency period, right?
Wrong.
Bet Online increased the number of games they think the Jaguars will lose in 2020, going from 6.5 wins for the over/under down to 5.5 wins.
Jacksonville Jaguars - 2020 regular season win total
Over/Under 5½ (6½)
Note: 2019 opening win total was 8.
Okay then.
