The Jacksonville Jaguars have renegotiated offensive lineman Andrew Norwell’s salary for the 2020 season — reducing his base salary from $11.5 million to $9 million, but increasing his guaranteed salary from zero up to that $9 million.
The Jaguars and G Andrew Norwell agreed to a renegotiated deal in which he earns a $9M fully guaranteed base salary, with the solid chance to earn $2.5M back in realistic incentives. Previously, Norwell was due $11.5M non-guaranteed, now he gets security.

The difference in that $2.5 million is now in incentives that I would imagine relate to playing time, postseason play, and individual honors like a Pro Bowl selection or earning a spot on the All-Pro teams.
Although nothing really leaked from the Jaguars front office, I have to assume Norwell was on the trading block going into last week’s 2020 NFL Draft and that his renegotiation being just a few days after is no coincidence.
