Today, the Jacksonville Jaguars announced two veteran players, starting offensive tackle Jawaan Taylor and reserve offensive lineman Ryan Pope have been placed on the team’s reserve/COVID-19 list.

This comes on the same day veteran players were expected to report to training camp for coronavirus/COVID-19 testing and one week after rookies, quarterbacks and injured players reported.

Yesterday, the Jaguars announced four rookies were placed on the same list, including cornerbacks Josiah Scott and Luq Barcoo, defensive tackle DaVon Hamilton and offensive lineman Tre’Vour Wallace-Simms.

Scott made a clarification regarding his personal placement on the list yesterday, as well.

The reserve/COVID-19 list is a new roster mechanism which indicates that a player either tested positive for COVID-19 or who has been quarantined after having been in close contact with an infected person or persons.

For players that are listed on the team’s reserve/COVID-19 list, the minimum period is commensurate with the applicable mandatory testing and/or quarantine time required by the NFL/NFLPA Testing and/or Treatment Protocols to clear that player.

Taylor, the team’s second-round selection in the 2019 NFL Draft played in started in all 16 games for the Jaguars at right tackle last season, never missing a single snap. Entering his second season, he is expected to continue in his starting position as the Jaguars continue their development along the offensive line.

Pope, 6-foot-7, 315 pounds was signed to the Jaguars’ practice squad late last season and is currently apart of the team’s 90-man roster.

Earlier today, the Jaguars announced that fullback Connor Slomka was taken off of the team’s active/non-football injury list.
