The Jacksonville Jaguars have claimed second-year offensive lineman Garret McGhin off of waivers from the Buffalo Bills today.
McGhin was signed by the Bills as an undrafted free agent from East Carolina University in 2019, and spent the 2019 training camp and preseason with the team. McGhin bounced around the practice squad for the Carolina Panthers, and played in two games before being put on injured reserve December 19, 2019. McGhin signed with Buffalo early 2020 before being waived on July 27, 2020.
At East Carolina, McGhin played in 48 career games, starting 11 games at right guard in 2016, split time between right and left guard in 2017, then started all 12 games at right tackle in 2018.
McGhin already has ties to two of the younger standouts on the Jaguars roster. He played with quarterback Gardner Minshew II at East Carolina in 2016, Minshew’s only season with the Pirates.
