Ngakoue is currently in the five-day waiting period before he's allowed to hire new representation.
Ngakoue has still not signed his franchise tender and has been a holdout for the first few days of training camp. How this changes Ngakoue’s status as a member of the Jaguars is yet to be seen, but with so much inactivity with Nissim leading the charge it’s likely Ngakoue wanted to see if something could get going with different representation.
The Jaguars offered Ngakoue a short-term deal prior to the season, while Ngakoue was sitting out of voluntary workouts and the two sides didn’t come to an agreement. The deal was reportedly worth $19 million per year, but the guarantees for that deal were never reported and our sources indicate a lot of that $19 million per year was only in reference to the new years of the extension and there wasn’t a ton of guaranteed money. Ngakoue has been seeking something in the ballpark of $22 million per year.
Leonard Fournette also left Nissim earlier this year, but it was at the same time Nissim left Roc Nation agency.
