Jaguars injury report: TE Tyler Davis ruled out vs. Colts

NFL: Jacksonville Jaguars-Training Camp Reinhold Matay-USA TODAY Sports

Jacksonville Jaguars rookie tight end Tyler Davis is out for the Week 1 season opener against the Indianapolis Colts meaning the team has just two tight ends on the active roster — James O’Shaughnessy and Tyler Eifert.

Davis was taken in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He’s a big target who ran a 4.71 40 at his pro day, and he can use that speed to separate from defenders in the intermediate levels. He didn’t have a lot of production at Georgia Tech, but in his last season at UConn, he caught six touchdown passes.

He profiles as a developmental tight end who could work into the rotation in the case on injury.
