Jacksonville’s offense has been the star of the show early in the season. Gardner Minshew is playing lights out. Young receivers like D.J. Chark, Laviska Shenault, and Keelan Cole have been giving the opposing secondary fits. Undrafted rookie running back James Robinson looks like a first rounder. And the offensive line is playing much better than expected.
The defense, however, has been a challenge. Myles Jack is playing the best football of his life, but the pass rush is lacking and the defensive backs are young and making mistakes.
It’s likely going to be a high-scoring shootout on national television and I can’t wait, folks.
Stay with us all through the day as we live blog the game as it happens, and feel free to join the conversation in the comments as the day progresses. We’ll have postgame coverage as well following the conclusion of the game.
All Gardner Minshew wants to do is chew gum and win football games... and he’s all out of gum. Grab our new Gardner Winshew shirts here.

8:37 PM: Miami’s opening drive goes for an easy touchdown. STOP DEFERRING.
8:30 PM: The cart is coming out for Leon Jacobs. Oh no.
8:26 PM: Putting the defense on the field first is just an absolutely moronic move at this point. They get gassed on the opening drive every game.

4:05 PM: They should stay this way forever, in my opinion.
2:03 PM: Wide receiver DJ Chark Jr. has been ruled OUT for tonight’s matchup. Chark is dealing with a chest/back injury sustained during the first quarter of last week’s game against the Tennessee Titans.
#Jaguars wide receiver DJ Chark Jr. (chest/ back), who was previously listed as QUESTIONABLE, has been downgraded to OUT and will not play in tonight’s game.— Demetrius Harvey (@Demetrius82) September 24, 2020
12:34 PM: Pepsi will be putting Gardner Minshew’s ‘stache on drinks when he wins? I’ll take a million please.
.@MiamiDolphins and @Jaguars fans – we heard there's a beard vs stache debate brewing down in Florida. Let’s make it interesting - winning whiskers will be featured on a limited-edition Pepsi later this season. pic.twitter.com/BZhufX6nOG— Pepsi (@pepsi) September 24, 2020
10:31 AM: Did every member of the Big Cat Country team pick the Jaguars to win tonight? Yes. Yes we did.
9:00 AM: Oh, baby! These vintage highlights from Keenan McCardell and Jimmy Smith are beautiful, y’all.
8:35 AM: Russell Wilson, you say? I see the vision.
#Jags QB Gardner Minshew...a novelty or deserving of some respect? What if I told you he has similar comps to Russell Wilson? #ThursdayNightFootball #Jags #Dolphins @nflnetwork pic.twitter.com/MInprUDSP3— Jane Slater (@SlaterNFL) September 24, 2020
6:48 AM: Well, this is good news to wake up to. D.J. Chark is still questionable for tonight’s game, meaning he has a 50-50 chance of playing, but if he’s trending upward that’s encouraging. We’ll monitor this closely.
