Free agent kicker Stephen Hauschka signs with Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jacksonville Jaguars are signing free agent kicker Stephen Hauschka, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

Hauschka has 85.7% accuracy on kicks in his career, but his previous two seasons with the Buffalo Bills saw him take a dip — he was good from only 78.6% of his field goal tries.

At 35 years old, it’ll be interesting to see if Hauschka still has what it takes. In six seasons with the Seattle Seahawks, he missed just five field goal attempts (15-for-22) of 50 or more yards. But in just three seasons with the Buffalo Bills, he missed nine field goal attempts (12-for-21) of 50 or more yards.

His mid-range kicking has improved a little, however. Over the past three seasons with Buffalo, he was good from 79.3% of his kicks from 40-49 yards out — that’s his best accuracy from that range of his career.

He’s missed just eight kicks in his 12-year career from 39 yards or less.
