Meyer coming to the Jaguars as their next head coach has felt like the worst kept secret in the NFL coaching carousel over the past month, but after everything went quiet for nearly a week there was some doubt shed that it was actually going to happen. Based on multiple reports this morning however, it seems that whatever snags were holding up a deal materializing are being worked out.
The Jaguars coaching opening was viewed by many as the best open job on the market, in large part to the amount of cap room the Jaguars currently have projected and the fact that they have the first overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft to which they can land Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence, who Meyer is reportedly enamored with as a player.
