Every week in the NFL is a must-win situation, but it’s even more imperative today as the Jaguars look to move past the team’s distraction caused by head coach Urban Meyer last week following the team’s loss against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Today, the team will look to do something it’s only done twice since 2016, beat the Titans. Tennessee is entering the game down several players, including starting receiver Julio Jones as he continues to recover from a hamstring injury that has forced him to miss time this season.
Jacksonville will also enter the week with a new kicker. Newly signed Jaguars kicker Matthew Wright will once against suit up for Jacksonville after nailing all three of his extra points last week.
Typical starting kicker Josh Lambo is inactive for the game, a healthy scratch and seemingly losing his job to Wright, at least for this week. It is not yet clear what Lambo’s status with the team will be moving forward.
Let’s kick off the game thread...

3:35 PM: Laviska Shenault broke, maybe, six tackles on this play. His first target of the game comes in the fourth quarter.

3:27 PM: This was the tail end of an 11-play drive. Titans defense not playing with the sort of intensity they would if this were close, but it’s still impressive.

2:15 PM: 287 days. 287... days...
The last field goal kicked by a Jaguar to actually go through the uprights in a regular-season game: a 26-yard field goal by Aldrick Rosas on Dec. 27, 2020 against the Bears.

It has been 287 days since the Jaguars have made a field goal in a game that counts.
2:09 PM: The only team in the NFL without a field goal.
The Jaguars are 0/4 on field goals in 2021. Only team in the NFL without one.

2:02 PM: The Jaguars have not been able to cover a tight end throughout their entire existence as an NFL franchise.

1:53 PM: A nice, big-boy drive from Trevor Lawrence on that one as the Jaguars run nine plays for 70 yards and a touchdown. They took 5:01 off the clock. Lawrence threw a touchdown toss to Jacob Hollister on 4th-and-1.
Nice toss from Lawrence. Fantastic drive and he’s clearly getting better and better each week: pic.twitter.com/2djFjIyga1

1:17 PM: James Robinson is off to a great start. He had a carry for 58 yards on the team’s second drive of the game, and would score from one yard out just two plays later.

Replacement kicker Matthew Wright would slip on the extra point and miss the attempt.
1:07 PM: Not a great start to the game for the Jaguars. On the third play of the game, Trevor Lawrence threw it to tight end Dan Arnold, who was hit and fumble right away. Eric Molden would pick up the fumble for an easy scoop-and-score.
12:56 PM: Jaguars receiver Jamal Agnew was introduced with the team’s starters today on offense. With DJ Chark Jr. (fractured ankle) out for the season, Agnew’s role will increase.
12:46 PM: It will be interesting to see how Derrick Henry plays today against Jacksonville. In 10 career games against the Jaguars, Titans RB Derrick Henry has ran for 1,013 yards on 184 carries and 11 touchdowns.
12:08 PM: The Jaguars announced their inactives for the day, including Lambo, rookie CB Tyson Campbell and starting defensive lineman Roy Robertson-Harris.
#Jaguars kicker Josh Lambo is in active today against the Titans.
