Jaguars open as only 3.5 point underdogs against Seahawks

Fresh coming off the bye week, the Jacksonville Jaguars open as only 3.5 point underdogs to the Seattle Seahawks, based on the odds from our good friends over at DraftKings sportsbook. While the line may look odd at first, don’t forget the Seahawks are without their star starting quarterback, Russell Wilson, who is still out with a hand injury.

In his stead will be backup Geno Smith, who has done actually fairly well in Wilson’s absence. In his start against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Smith threw for over 200 yards and had a touchdown pass in the 23-20 loss. We will see him in action again on Monday Night Football against the New Orleans Saints.

For the Jaguars, being a 3.5 point underdog on the road seems great on the surface. Typically playing in a place like Seattle will net you being a big underdog, but with the Jaguars coming off a win, the Seahawks defense a shell of what it used to be and no Russell Wilson makes it close to being a coin flip on the odds.
