This makes the third member of the Baltimore Ravens coaching staff that is joining Urban Meyer inaugural coaching staff.
Orr most recently served as a defensive analyst for the Baltimore Ravens, working with expected defensive coordinator Joe Cullen. Throughout the past four seasons with Baltimore, Orr has assisted coaching linebackers and special teams. He also has experience on the personnel side of the business, helping the Ravens evaluate players during the offseason.
Orr is just 28 years old. He was forced to retire from the NFL in 2017 due to a congenital spine condition. He originally joined the Ravens in 2014 as an undrafted free agent out of North Texas. Orr eventually found his way to a starting role at linebacker in Baltimore, including recording 133 tackles, six tackles for loss and three interceptions in 2016. He finished his career with 163 tackles, eight tackles for loss and one sack, according to Pro Football Reference.
It was originally reported that Charlie Strong would likely be coaching linebackers for the Jaguars, but with Orr expected to hired as the linebackers coach, and Tosh Lupoi expected to coach the defensive line, look for Strong serve as assistant head coach.
