Jacksonville Jaguars make several roster moves as NFL League Year opens

The Jacksonville Jaguars have been busy over the past couple of days. With the new NFL League Year officially opening at 4 p.m. Eastern Time on Wednesday, the Jaguars have agreed to terms with several unrestricted free agents, and also acquired defensive tackle Malcolm Brown via trade with the New Orleans Saints.

Below is the current list of new players coming to Jacksonville in 2021. The team officially announced it came to agreements with each of the following players (click on the links for more background on each player).

Additionally, the Jaguars have re-signed several players from the 2020 roster:

The Jaguars also released the following players:

  • Quenton Meeks, cornerback
  • Rashaan Melvin, cornerback
  • Josh Nurse, cornerback
  • Cameron Nizialek, punter
  • Craig Reynolds, running back
  • Dontavius Russell, defensive tackle
  • Al Woods, defensive tackle
  • Gabe Wright, defensive tackle

Lastly the following players from the 2020 roster officially became unrestricted free agents as of 4 p.m. today, and are free to sign with any team:

  • Keelan Cole, wide receiver
  • Dede Westbrook, wide receiver
  • Chris Conley, wide receiver
  • Chris Thompson, running back
  • Mike Glennon, quarterback
  • Tyler Eifert, tight end
  • Eric Saubert, tight end
  • D.J. Hayden, cornerback
  • Greg Mabin, cornerback
  • Josh Jones, safety
  • Aaron Lynch, defensive end/linebacker
  • Adam Gotsis, defensive end
  • Abry Jones, defensive tackle
  • Caraun Reid, defensive tackle
  • Daniel Ross, defensive tackle

The Jaguars are also reportedly trading tight end Josh Oliver to the Baltimore Ravens.
